The construction work of Kurmitola General Hospital had started in the year 2004 and was inaugurated on 13 May 2012. This hospital started out patient service in 12 November, 2012 and indoor service in 16 June 2013. This hospital is now responsible to offer medical support to all classes of citizens of Bangladesh and also to provide training to MBBS internees, students of nursing internees. Every day this hospital is providing outdoor service to 4000-4500 patients. Eighty percent of outpatients are seen by specialist (FCPS/MS/MD qualified) doctors and ticket fee is only 10 taka. At this moment it has become the best outdoor service providing hospital amongst all Govt. hospital of Bangladesh. This 1200 bedded hospital remains occupied with 700-800 indoor patients every day. Admission turn over is 80-120 per day. Indoor service is also commendable. All kind/Most kind of diagnostic service (Pathology, Radiology, Blood Bank, CT, MRI, USG, Mammography, Echo etc) available here. At present we are running 33 machines and doing dialysis of 66 patients everyday in dialysis center. Ministry of Health & family welfare is now dreaming with this hospital to make it as national standard and referral center.
